How can Neus Milán help you?

She is a research support librarian at the UOC Library. In her daily work, she supports the research staff and accompanies them throughout the process: information searches and management, publication in high-impact journals and assessment of the quality of their scientific output by means of bibliometric indicators.

Neus also provides support for the accreditation calls organized by different rating agencies (AQU, ANECA, etc) and takes part actively in training doctoral students.

She is manager of the support service for accreditation calls organized by the rating agencies.

Education and professional career

Her initial background was in Sociology, but she decided to make a career shift and started to study Information Science (UAB). She immediately felt attracted to searching for information in specialized databases and resources, the new technologies and everything related with research.

Accordingly, she decided to study for the UOC-Technosite Master's Degree in Accessible Technologies for the Information Society and, later on, she took a postgraduate course in Science Communication and Assessment at the University of Barcelona (UB).

Her professional experience has been focused on research libraries: the UAB's Medicine Library, the IN3's (Internet Interdisciplinary Institute) Library and, lastly, the UOC Library, where she has specialized in bibliometrics and assessment of the impact of scientific output.
